Willows Weep, A Soul To Keep
Gamble Patterson, a retired Texas Ranger, has been shot up. His father killed. His young wife and daughter too. His second wife moved out, and he’s estranged from his son. He’s drinking again, and he’s angry.
Patterson’s heart is cold. His body is tired. And his attitude is dark.
But when Wise County Sheriff Maria Waters asks him to help solve a murder, Gamble’s old instincts kick in. There’s nothing that gives him grit like when the privileged buy and bully their way over the innocent. He’s off the books and not interested in rules.
Maybe this new sense of purpose will provide him with redemption.
