The County Line Cartel is a Members Only group that is the innovative dream child of Texas Storyteller and Author James Wayland Long.  In keeping with famous Texas traditions like Rex Cauble’s Cowboy Mafia, the Cutter's Cartel that ran wild on the National Cutting Horse Association in the 80s, and the Rio Grande Cartel Clans like Reynosa and Gulf and Juarez, Long has decided to create The County Line Cartel as a way to secretly communicate with his readers.  Access will get you invited to a completely SECRET Facebook group, as well as discounts, private signings, Saturday night suppers, meet and greets, and member’s only apparel merchandise.  With a rolodex like the author’s, you NEVER know who will show up or what to expect next.  You will have the opportunity to order and purchase bulk book orders at a fraction over our cost, for use in charity events and auctions, non profit fund raising activities and the like, as long as they are approved by the author.  You will also have the opportunity to receive his full release novels at a discounted rate before the rest of the world sees them.     

The County Line Cartel members will be treated to one or two short stories per month, a few thousand words in length, that will be available to Cartel eyes only.  These stories will be entertaining as always, thrown out there for you to cuss and discuss, and based on YOUR reaction, could be woven into the creation of a Texas Original Story.  The author is attempting to pick your brain, gain inside information, and steal from your life’s storybook.  We will also feature the occasional short story by other authors.  You will get “backstage access” as to how James Wayland creates his stories, backstories behind the ideas, and constant updates on what he is working on at the time.  He will also share his personal “Got to Read” list.  There will be pre-scheduled live Facebook chat sessions, with Long and other western celebrities as well as Cartel get-togethers at venues like NCHA cuttings, rodeos, and other western events.

Members will be asked their opinions on cover art, layouts, bounce ideas off the creator himself, and brainstorm openly in the Private Cartel Camp Headquarters.  A place where we can openly share our darkest Cartel secrets.  Membership has it’s privileges in a group like The County Line Cartel, including drawings to sit with the author at public signings as a part of his “security team” and be introduced as as “Cartel Member”.  Cartel dues are 19.99 per year, and the Cartel goes live December 1st, with discounts and bulk charity orders available after the start of 2016.
